Professor Tsui (or as he likes to be called, Professor Chewy) was an amazing guy. Lectures are useful, but not required. He has a great sense of humor, and loves to tell stories that help you understand the concepts better. He knows almost everyones name, and is friendly and accessible outside of class. His lectures are hard to follow and he doesn't introduce topics before talking about them so 90% of the time you're not sure what topic he is trying to teach you. Not helpful in office ours, the class was unnecessarily hard.Rate My Professors ↗
This professor will make you think he is nice and funny, but in the tests he will have no regrets to don't give you any point if you don't get the answer he wants the way he wants and give BC and C's to half the class, I am a A student and he just gave me a BC and didn't let me see my final, saying he is not obligated.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Tsui is very caring and wants everyone to succeed. You'll get a handout per class that's good for summarizing the material. When you start to doze off he tells funny personal stories. We had our discussion sections cut and he hosted office hours once a week in a large room to make up for it. He really cares and exams are fair.Rate My Professors ↗
Most interesting lecturer I've had at UW. Relates statistics to real life situations and makes it clear what is going on behind the formula. Lecturers are great for conceptual material, but the book is more helpful for solving problems. Gives great handouts that help break down material. Highly recommend.Rate My Professors ↗
Although he can be hard to understand at times due to his accent, his teaching style is excellent. If you have a sense of humor you will laugh during every lecture. I would definitely recommend him! Too bad he will not be teaching Stats 301 in the near future.Rate My Professors ↗
