Joanna is an okay professor, but the class is set up horribly. With one lecture every week, you have to rely on your TA being a good teacher if you want to master the material. Tests are also clearly set up to trick you rather than actually test core accounting principlesRate My Professors ↗

She is a bad professor who skips important material in lecture, forcing students to learn from readings. Homework is assigned constantly, practice problems are limited, and lectures move fast. The class was manageable only because the material was easy. Since the course is mandatory, there is little choice, but if possible take another professorRate My Professors ↗
Most of the learning is done through discussion and the readings. There was one 50 minute lecture on Monday that she would try to squeeze a chapter or two of material into. She'd fly through the slides, skipping basically all the ratios and not adding to our understanding of the material. If you want to pass the class, read.Rate My Professors ↗
Joanna was great and the TAs were even better. If you use the huge amount of provided resources and practice problems consistently, getting an A in this class is easily achievable. I got a high A without ever reading the textbook. Lectures are mandatory, but the tests are exactly the content in lectures plus problems similar to the packets.Rate My Professors ↗
Joanna was a good professor. The tests are almost exactly based on the lecture content and the application-based problems in the homework and most importantly, the discussion packets. If you attend lecture and use the infinite resources given, getting an A in this class is easily achievable. I never read the textbook and am in very high A range.Rate My Professors ↗
It is doable to get an A or AB. That being said, to do well, you have to put in a lot of effort on your own to study or fully learnt he material. The slides, discussion packets, and common mistakes sections are your friend, but nothing can fully prepare you for exams unless you know material front to back, because they are designed to trick you.Rate My Professors ↗
