Professor Hu, is a professor who truly understands and cares about Thermodynamics. His lectures can be a bit confusing to following, but his lecture notes make for it ten times over. His exams were fair and he was always willing to talk to students regarding content, logistics, grades, etc. He is a very solid choice from the MSE department.Rate My Professors ↗

Its evident that Professor Hu deeply cares and I did learn a lot from his course. I just find his teaching style mediocre at best and found myself learning 90% of the material outside of lecture. To be fair, his lecture notes are very good. Youll have the resources at your disposal, youll just be learning it on your own.Rate My Professors ↗
Jiamian is one of the best and nicest professors I have had so far in the university. MSE330 is not an easy class by any means, but he did his best to teach it. He has by far the best supplemental material for a class I have seen, his lecture notes are immaculate. Dont get scared by the number of derivations, you are not required to learn them.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Hu has a true passion for this topic and Material Science as a whole. The excitement he has for the topic helps to make the course easier. This course requires a good understanding of calculus topics and perseverance, but the end result is a great understanding of Thermodynamics.Rate My Professors ↗
This class was absolutely ridiculous. First, he teaches you from his mentors unpublished textbook that has mistakes in it and it is not very helpful with learning the content. If you get a good grade in this class you're simply lucky. The WORST class I have ever taken at UW and refuse to take another class with him ever again.Rate My Professors ↗
