About this rating

Raw average: 1.82/5 from 11 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

BSE 509
Quality 1/5Difficulty 2/5
Condescending and defensive yet tries desperately to be liked by students. Unclear expectations on assignments and nitpicks when grading. I feel like her grading is not correlated at all to the effort I put into assignments. I could spend 5 minutes or 2 hours on an assignment and probably just get a low B either way. Very frustrating instructor.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 3/5
Lacks empathy and just overall not someone you can go to. Doesnt have her students back or best interest in mind, poor instructor and makes multiple mistakes. Avoid if possible, if you cant be prepared to be frustrated.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 2/5
If you show up and you ask questions, you'll do fine. She won't just give up the answer, she'll try and lead you to it first. She wants you to do well, but only if you show her you're trying.

Good overall professor, one of my favorites here at UW. She is available a lot and usually answers questions pretty straightforwardly.
