Professor Gipson is the only reason I graduated college. After struggling and scraping by for years, taking her class reinstated my faith in undergrad. There are many wonderful professors in the French department at UW, but Prof Gipson made me feel the most seen and heard. She respects her students and leads thought-provoking conversation.Rate My Professors ↗

I took one of Professor Gipson's blended learning classes and let me tell you I dreaded logging into Canvas every week to do the homework. The readings and videos were the most boring things I've ever read/watched and since the class was mostly online, it took about three hours to get through all the materials for a 15 question quiz..Rate My Professors ↗

I loved Jennifer! It's clear how much she cares about student progress, and I actually learned a lot about both literary analysis and the French language itself when I took her class. She gives great feedback too, often within minutes of submitting something. Going to class was enjoyable because she's hilarious and very enthusiastic!Rate My Professors ↗

Long lectures; lectures are already 75 minutes but she makes them feel like they're 2 hours. DO NOT SLEEP IN CLASS! Or she will call you out on it and dislike you. Think you'll be watching Disney movies in this class? Think again. You only watch one disney film and don't do anything related to Disney till end of semester. 3 quizzes and 2 essays.Rate My Professors ↗

Good professor who is clearly engaged with teaching. She really makes the effort to help each student progress during the course of the semester.Rate My Professors ↗

TERRIBLE online class. Way too much busywork with fill-in-the-blank questions whose answers are buried deep within a 10 year-old set of online lectures & readings with a needlessly-complicated layout. There's a generous curve to make up for the ridiculous workload, but what's the point? WORST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN!Rate My Professors ↗
