About this rating

Raw average: 2.49/5 from 37 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Toughest gen ed I've taken. You are expected to teach yourself the material via videos over the weekend. Dr. Branchaw was nice and knowledgeable but I would've preferred traditional lectures.

While I enjoyed the anatomy portion, this class has a heavy focus on physiology and detailed processes. The class is set up so that you learn your content for the week Fri-Sun. You are responsible for learning and understanding the materials before class, and the lectures are all about application. Use your discussion sections to help you!

Professor Branchaw is a nice person and I find that it helps when she actually teaches to us, but most of the time that does not happen. Pre-work for the week is designed to take a long time. We've been seeing averages of 60% for the quizzes. Your TA matters for this course, as besides teaching yourself everything, they will be next to help.

To summarize what I'm about to say: DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. I'm an English and Poli Sci major and I took ANATPHY 235 for my bio breadth requirement. I won't be doing that anymore - I dropped the class 2 and a half weeks in. SUPER heavy workload, which you do most of from Friday-Sunday. TA really matters, and I didn't get a good one. SAVE YOURELF!!!

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. She has a "flipped classroom" so you teach the content to yourself outside of lecture and the content does not encompass even close to what you need to know for tests. During lecture, no one teaches and you do worksheets that don't help you grasp content. The tests are VERY difficult, class is very disorganized and a waste.
