he was great but there was little to no point to going to lectures since he would just go on about random stories. know a lot about the data and times since that was a big part of the exam. Only 2 midterms and no official final.

Lecture isn't required but if you don't go the exam will be much harder. The grading is very hard, follows pre distributed grades and takes them2-3 weeks to grade. Your grade is locked on Canvas throughout the semester and the percents of the assignments are odd making it hard to calculate. Would not reccomend unless you have to take it.

Prof Elwert was a really good teacher, sometimes the lectures become boring and content heavy but it's a really easy class. His exams are very difficult, so study but there's no final!

Prof Elwert is a great lecturer and is very knowledgable in his field. I recommend attending lectures, as the tests are very lecture heavy and are difficult! Though I enjoy his teaching, I think Elwert prides himself on the fact that his tests are so hard, as he has a built in curve to make his scores look better. Overall a manageable class.

Lectures were posted online so not many people came to them. There are only 2 exams total and they are not that bad as long as you study and remember information from the lectures. The readings and HW assignments are not that bad and the stuff you read will most likely be in the lectures. Also was not a huge fan of discussions.

Professor Elwert's sociology class covers a lot of material, but the exams are unclear, and he provides vague advice during office hours, making tasks seem easier/simpler than they are. Grading is tough, and it takes over a month to receive grades on exams and essays. Additionally, he is often rude and impatient with his TAs, who work hard.
