About this rating

Raw average: 2.71/5 from 17 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Erik is a very passionate and knowledgeable teacher and is easily one of my favorite instructors I've had so far. He sets you up for a career in filmmaking and holds you to the standards the industry would. 467 is a very difficult course, easily the most difficult I've taken, but it's incredibly rewarding. As long as you try you'll do well.

Erik has a worse reputation than what is merited. The class is tough and really depends on what group you have for the semester. Having a good group can make the 8+ hour shoots really fly by, but a bad group and you are screwed. The lectures in the course are usually a hands on opportunity to work with equipment and get familiar before shoot days.

Erik Gunneson gets a bad rap. This is a tough class, it is not a class you can get into and glide by, you are going to put in a lot of hours. 9 hour long shoots with 3.5 hour classes. Erik teaches you everything you need to know and does it with a lot of passion. Homework absolutely and can take a long time, but take this class if youre passionate

Quality 4/5Difficulty 5/5
467 is not a course for the weak. If you take it you should be prepared for a minimum of 12 hours of work per week, maximum 20 hours. If you are truly committed to becoming a better filmmaker Erik will help you immensely. Erik's desires for 467 is that his students learn the fundamental skills of filmmaking so that they may experiment later.

This class will take up your entire life so be prepared. He is a tough grader but really this class rides on what group you're assigned to. If you don't get a good group, you're screwed.

This guy sucks. Rips on any risks taken and assigns everything over Canvas. Also has no real authority of the subject matter.
