Erik is a very passionate and knowledgeable teacher and is easily one of my favorite instructors I've had so far. He sets you up for a career in filmmaking and holds you to the standards the industry would. 467 is a very difficult course, easily the most difficult I've taken, but it's incredibly rewarding. Erik has a worse reputation than what is merited. The class is tough and really depends on what group you have for the semester. Having a good group can make the 8+ hour shoots really fly by, but a bad group and you are screwed. The lectures in the course are usually a hands on opportunity to work with equipment and get familiar before shoot days.Rate My Professors ↗
Erik Gunneson gets a bad rap. This is a tough class, it is not a class you can get into and glide by, you are going to put in a lot of hours. 9 hour long shoots with 3.5 hour classes. Erik teaches you everything you need to know and does it with a lot of passion. Homework absolutely and can take a long time, but take this class if youre passionateRate My Professors ↗
467 is not a course for the weak. If you take it you should be prepared for a minimum of 12 hours of work per week, maximum 20 hours. If you are truly committed to becoming a better filmmaker Erik will help you immensely.
