Derrick is such an amazing and caring professor. He was flexible with due dates and offered extra credit if needed. I took Art 222 and it was one of my favorite classes I have taken, so I definitely recommend him.

He is such a caring and chill guy, he's super flexible and always willing to help. He offers revisions if you want to earn more points on projects, as well as extra credit opportunities.

Derrick is a very chill professor, with a somewhat quirky, dry humor. I had ART222. Most of the class he gave us the prompt and some vague direction, and then let us loose to paint, with the ability to use him as a resource. He'll go over the exact points of why he's giving you a grade, with the ability change your work for a higher one.

Beyond amazing - doesn't make you do annoyingly specific projects. You guide your learning and use him as a resource. I look up my instructors art before and after taking a class, and I got a new vibe from his work after having him as an instructor. He's quiet, yet awkwardly funny. Opposite of his pop art style, which makes his art more intriguing.
