Daniel is a great and accessible professor. I took his Micro 526 class for fall 2021 and even though I received an A, I had to work VERY HARD for that grade. There are no homework assignments; only 3 take-home exams. He gives you a whole week to work on 12-15 hard questions. As long as you attend the lectures you're good! Lectures are recorded!

One of the most amazing professor at UW-Madison. He makes complicated concepts sound simple and didn't try to complicate the class material. Had problem sets before every exam, other than that, not high maintenance. My final exam was optional. lecture video were recorded too. 10/10

He is a really nice guy, he does care about his students and is always available to help! Micro 526 is a hard course, but he makes it clear and interesting:) you need to study hard and in details, but you'll learn a lot! He is one of the best professors I've ever had!

Amazing lecturer. Nice guy, always smiling. He even prints out copies of the lecture slides for free for all the students. He's a hidden gem among the more well-known professors at the UW. He doesn't give practice exams, but he makes it very, very clear what you need to know for the exams. Just come to lecture.

Good professor, but loads all the grading on his TA which puts a real delay on test/assignment feedback - like weeks until you hear back. Leaves time for questions on most subjects and answers them during lectures. Probably wouldn't hurt to be familiar with organic chemistry before this course.
