It was his TA that did majority of the grading, but the final exam was all content from lecture. You don't need the textbook to get a good score on the final. If you just go to lecture, take notes, and pay attention. You'll do well. Also, he doesn't post lecture slides. Lecture is technically not mandatory. Or get really good notes from a friend
