Easy to get an A if you are a good writer. Boring lecturer. Students make fun of her because she is not inspirational like other GWS profs.

Professor Ewig's lectures were pretty bland at first, but they got more interesting and empowering later on. Discussion sections have participation grades (so it's mandatory) but don't let that scare you off. It's a decent class, but we had a lot of boring articles to read (the "textbook") for just a three credit course. My TA was a tough grader.

As an GWS major, this class proved pretty disappointing and not at all representative of other GWS classes or profs. While the subject material was interesting, Professor Ewig is NOT a great lecturer. She is very awkward to listen to and tends to ramble. I also wished she would have included more global content- often it seemed like an afterthought

She's very awkward to listen to- she tends to pause so often that you need to concentrate very hard on her sentences. I found that she tended to be extremely vague in her lectures and never gave clear cut examples. For example, she will throw a quote on a slide and then ramble in a extremely vaque way of how it matches a "world" view.

Fun lecturer and gives good examples and visual representations of material (i.e. youtube videos or movies). Does assign more than one paper, attendance is checked throughout the semester through pop reflections, and lots of readings. Readings were a bit excessive but worthwhile in understanding lecture material.

TOO MUCH READING. If you want to take an interesting class that won't be too demanding this course is NOT for you. I took this class because intro courses are always fun and you learn a lot without the intense pressure. This class had way too many readings ( approx. 6-8/week). Content was good, too demanding for 100 level class. Also, tough grader
