When signing up for this class, it wasn't exactly clear that we would see her basically two times every two months. Now, i'm not complaining, but if you don't learn well online don't even take this class. 90% of it is watching videos she made for you, which sometimes gets difficult. Although I had Dr. Toma 10 years ago, this course had a lasting impact on me, being that it was one of my first courses on campus. Dr. Toma appears kind, yet she'll catfish you. She was literally the opposite. Her class always felt hostile, such that when a student got an answer wrong, she would say “No, that's wrong.” It was like this all the time
Often, she would have due dates for assignments and not upload the necessary course materials to be accessed online in a timely manner. I was working a summer job during this course, so it was very frustrating when I couldn't work ahead or complete assignments due the next day due to technical difficulties.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Toma does not engage with the class. All lectures are prerecorded and she obviously prefers to work on her personal research than teach the class. All work is put on the TA so hope for a good one.Rate My Professors ↗
This course was broken up with you doing the lesson online, going to a small discussion, and going to a lecture sized discussion all covering the same material for the week. This was kind of repetitive but there were a lot of activities involved and none of them were difficult. do the lessons and the take notes and the 3 exams are not hardRate My Professors ↗
Being online, the lectures were written out lesson style and home some recorded videos but the course concepts were easy to understand and the weekly quizzes were pretty easy. The toughest part of this class is the research paper which is very involvedRate My Professors ↗
