About this rating

Raw average: 4.75/5 from 28 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

I think Prof. Blackwell was able to teach this class very well. Project 1 especially I learnt alot and also really enjoyed doing the ship race and it was a very enjoyable learning method. Only con would be that prof. Blackwell speaks faster than the average person so it might be hard to catch up in lecture.

Blackwell started this fermentation class pretty recently. I think we are the second batch of students. The class was a lot fun, and he is a very dedicated instructor. Passionate about what he is teaching and cares about his student. You can learn a lot from him if you put in the work.

Awesome instructor for 255. Takes into consideration many do not have coding background coming into this class. Office hours were very helpful.

Super chill and knowledgeable on coding in general. Going into the class I knew absolutely nothing about coding but he does an excellent job orienting you too it. Very funny delivery of jokes as well

I took Blackwell's material class last year of undergrad and I am now in graduate school. His material class taught me a lot and the knowledges I learned served me well in the graduate level material class I took this semester. Classes were always well organized, and he had a good overall lecture plan as well. Homework and exams were also fair
