The lectures were chill and I enjoyed being in the class watching different clips. Yet I don't think I would be able to finish five pages of film analysis during a 3 hours test duration. The test descriptions were very long and took me some time to read through and understand. The expectation is way too high and idk why we need an intense test hereRate My Professors ↗

Make sure you watch the films and do the weekly readings and you'll be fine. The lectures can be kind of boring sometimes but he often plays clips so he keeps it interesting in that way. Attendance is required and you fill out a 'code word' every day to be marked present, so make sure you're in class.Rate My Professors ↗

I took maybe 7 pages of notes the entire semester. Professor Singer is clearly very intelligent, but he underestimates his students' intelligence. He often spends half of lecture trying to articulate a fairly simple concept. The class could've been taught in 4 weeks. If you are a concise writer, learn to overelaborate or risk getting downgraded.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Singer is a really cool dude. I took Film Comedy with him and hes very passionate about the topic. The lectures can be very dry. He sometimes goes super deep into a topic and rambles for a bit. If it was not for our discussion section I dont think I would have enjoyed the class that much.Rate My Professors ↗
