Bart is very knowledgable and funny. Good: Weekly or twice a week quizzes and no final (imo this is better), encourages participation in discussions. Easy opportunity for 10+% EC with the cyber badger event. Bad: no quiz makeups, he gave us a quiz on the Tues before Thanksgiving, quizzes are harshly graded. He'll call you out for not participating

This class is awful. The professor is condescending, unhelpful, and inflexible. Quizzes are vague, confusing, and the TAs struggle with English, making it hard to get help. Eliza, the sub, is rude and passive-aggressive. Assignments are full of errors like wrong bash commands. Even with a good grade, it's not worth the stress. Avoid it! 0.2/5

Weekly quizzes, participation event and some more extra credit opportunities. Honestly, the 5 page paper wasn't needed for getting extra credit and people say it's easy and sure it's less challenging than the core CS courses but if you miss some of the quizzes and exercises, A would be hard to get. plz don't think this as a general education course

542 is a super fun course. That being said, you may not learn the most from this course. Weekly exams may seem bad but I vastly preferred them to a final. Very easy to get an A in.
