About this rating

Raw average: 2.30/5 from 30 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

PHYSICS 207
Quality 2/5Difficulty 4/5
Isn't a great lecturer (monotonous and boring), but is very nice and seems to care about students. Despite giving time to ask questions, lectures weren't helpful because concepts weren't explained well and his explanations were hard to follow. The discussions/my TA was more helpful! 207 is generally structured poorly (lectures don't match exams)

PHYSICS 207
Quality 2/5Difficulty 4/5
Gave lectures very monotonous and boring, and was often unprepared for the lectures he was giving. He went through the content alright, but it was not exciting. Tests were difficult and had harder problems than the homework.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 3/5
I see what other people say with him not being the best lecturer, but he obviously cares about his students. He isn't the most tech savvy but I appreciate his kindness. This is a tough class and isn't set up the best by the department, which isn't necessarily all his fault. I found most concepts are easy enough to learn during discussions

He mumbles a lot. Lectures are completely useless and the only reason to come is to get the 2% of extra credit given for answering the clicker questions. Get ready to read every single chapter of your textbook. Discussions are everything in this physics department, so don't take them for granted.

PHYSICS 207
Quality 2/5Difficulty 5/5
Prof. Karle is not the best lecturer- he kind of mumbles. His demonstrations are entertaining, but I still find myself often learning just from the textbook, my TA, or my peers. Lectures aren't really worth attending if you struggle to pay attention- just read the textbook instead.

PHYSICS 207
Quality 1/5Difficulty 5/5
You can tell Prof. Karle is a good physicist, but he is not a good lecturer. He does not explain concepts to students well at all. Lectures were practically useless and though he gave time for students to ask questions, it was difficult to follow his explanations. Seemed tired and was prone to mumbling. You basically had to learn on your own.
