Physics sucks. But you have to take physics take it with him. He works to engage his class (who don't reciprocate often), give real world examples of concepts (which frequently show on exams), and has a real passion for physics (which I don't). When I sucked it up and really payed attention in lecture, I learned, and that is all you can ask for.

Dr. Mohammadi is a good lecturer and is passionate about physics. He is funny, cares about student success, and explains concepts to students well, but sometimes focuses too much on the conceptual and doesn't explain how to practically approach problems. Class difficulty all over the place; homework =/= exams =/= quizzes. Can feel blindsided.

Abdollah seems like a great guy, very nice, but honestly this course and 207 are so messy and hard to get through. The difficulty of the lecture examples and textbook problems do not at all match up to the test questions. Labs are a slog to get through but graded generously. Pretty generous curve as well at least

Overall, 208 was ok. I enjoyed Prof. Mohammadi's humor and passion during lectures and OH. However, this course is super disorganized. Exams were all over the place, with the final containing ambiguities and even questions without answers. Some topics were crunched on time, and wasn't a huge fan of the mandatory attendance for discussion and labs.

Mohammadi is a great professor for Phys 208, he really tries to have the class engaging with demos and questions. He also makes his slides very easy to follow. For me E&M is a tougher unit than mechanics, but as long as you spend the time to study, it shouldn't be as bad. I would've preferred him as main professor, as he only taught a few classes.

Mohammadi is easily the best professor for Phys 207. Unlike the other professor, he actually tries to engage the students albeit not having the best handwriting. The homework does take a long time and the labs are overall not that bad. As long as you do well on homework and pay attention during his lectures, then you should be okay with the exams!

Thought it couldn't get worse after 207 but I was wrong. Lectures were incoherent and made the content more confusing. Exams were absurdly difficult and did not accurately reflect the type of content or questions seen on homework/quizzes. I would not recommend this class to anyone seeking to actually understand physics. DON'T DO IT!!

Overall, this course was ok. I would say Dr. Mohammadi made lectures enjoyable, going through demos and being funny. However, this 208's difficulty and structure is very disorganized. Especially exams were all over the place, and the final had unclear and clearly not proof-read questions. Idk what happened since past semesters seem more organized.

The content itself was good hell, even the teaching wasn't half bad. But this professor is incapable of making a good exam. He gives a 6 paged equation sheet just for half the multiple choice questions to be some random physics equation he just throws out of no where to solve the problem. This is especially true for magnetism and optics/nuclear.

Dr. Mohammadi really cares about his students and their learning. His lectures go a bit fast and most of the time you'll have to study the content on your own to fully grasp the concepts. His lectures serve as more of an introduction to the material, but his slides are easy to read/follow on your own. Overall, I liked having him as an instructor!

Lectures are rather uninteresting. Although Prof. Mohammadi is passionate about the subject it doesn't translate to an engaging lecture. Lecture attendance is extra credit, which really says something about the class- expect to mostly learn from the textbook and/or your TAs.

I actually hate this class, if you have the option to not take it here PLEASE do Mohammadi cannot teach and thinks that concepts that are easy for him are just common sense and it makes it difficult for others to learn. pls do. not. take. this. class.

I took physics 208 spring semester 2025 and it was THE WORST class, second to 207. Professor Mohammadi himself is a nice person, but definitely not a good instructor. He would often kill class time by going over equation derivation and then proceed to give exams that were way more difficult than anything went over in lecture (if any) and homework.

Dr. Mohammadi is a great teacher and I really enjoyed his Physics 207 class. He was funny and explained concepts in simple words so I can understand better. I would Highly recommend his class and I Had lots of fun and good times.

Worst prof ever. Spends more time deriving equations than explaining how to use them. Extremely disorganized course and the exams were unnecessarily confusing. He is condescending, rude, and teaches like everyone in the class has a physics background. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had in a class.

Physics 207 is a hard class and there were many times I was confused in class. But that doesnt mean Dr.Mohammadi is a bad teacher. He goes through problems in class and does helpful tophat like questions that really help your understanding. He also is very funny which is nice. Only complaint is he writes cos and sin very weirdly which is confusing.

I think abdollah assumes that understanding concepts he's been teaching for years is easy so he doesn't put effort into helping you comprehend it. This class sucks overall but going to lecture after reading the textbook actually made me understand the class LESS.

Abdollahs lectures were often all over the place and were way too detailed and overwhelming. Types of questions you'd see on an exam were never talked about in lecture. Content from homework and discussions seemed completely useless as it never related to stuff on exams. He's a nice guy, but it felt like this class sets you up for failure.

I find him so funny. Love his vibes. Kinda a bad teacher imo, but I dont use the lec slides to study so it didn't rlly matter. lots of past exams are provided for practice. discussion attendance is graded which kind of sucks but you get 5 skips. He's super chill and you can tell he enjoys teaching. textbook readings are not mandatory.

Lowkey hated this class because it was super hard and the exams are pretty much the only thing that affects your grade. Lots of homework and problem sets and quizzes but they're worth a small percentage. Abdollah was okay, knows his stuff but doesn't teach it very well. This class definitely requires a lottt of time.

Awesome professor! Even though I may not end up getting A or even AB in the course, I really like the teaching style of Prof. Mohammadi. He is so caring, sometimes funny, and explains tough concepts in simple language! I really do not know why he got some negative comments here!

Not sure why this professor got so many negative points. Dr Mohammadi is one of the best professors I have ever had. Definitely recommend taking 207 and 208 courses with him. He is so caring, fun, and knowledgable. The demos are in class are great.

Dr. Mohammadi did his best to keep the course engaging. He was clearly passionate about the subject. Learned the most from doing the homework. Lecture attendance gives 2 point boost to the overall grade. Homework would get penalize when you input an incorrect answer to the Mastering website. Labs were pretty useless but a grade boost overall.

Professor Mohammadi is very engaging. The slides are organized well so it is easy to understand as he is walking through the process of solving problems. He is also very responsive to feed back which is helpful for changes being made going forward. The use of in class demos to show concepts was great!

I had Mohammadi for both 207 and 208. I got an A in 207 but 208 was much tougher and I ended with an AB. Overall, he made the course material engaging and at times humorous. Lectures were useful but it's good to sit nearer the front to see the whiteboard and hear him better. Would take again with him.

Useless lectures

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO! This class and its professors are made to set everyone up for failure. Lectures/PowerPoint slides are useless. And no matter how much time you spend studying for the exams, you will NOT get the grades you think you worked for. Definitely take a class that is easier but the equivalent of 207, if you can.

207 was just about the worst class I have ever taken. Lectures are meaningless. Discussions don't prepare you for the exams, nor do practice exams or review sheets. Exams are significantly hard. Instructor office hours were pointless. While his lectures were better than the other instructor teaching it, they were still so unhelpful. Don't take this

Does a good job of breaking complex things down in lecture, and discussions are very helpful

Professor Mohammadi seems to be very knowledgeable about the course and he provides us with useful information. He had a nice lecturing style that made the class very easy to follow.

Take 207 and 208 with Him. Dr. Mohammadi is an underrated professor in the physics department for General physics teaching. Lectures are great and exams are fair. His slide could be a bit hard to follow but if you understand discussion problems and previous year exams, you will be fine.

Attendance is mandatory and is taken via a participation session on MasteringPhysics. He is a nice man but the lectures are hard to follow and rarely cover relevant information. He goes fast and either doesn't elaborate enough, or elaborates WAY too much. Discussion sections are gonna save you, as will your TA's office hours.

Professor Mo's lectures are decent, I can usually follow along with his lessons. It's hilarious when he tries to do demonstrations for the class and they don't work. 207 is hard, however there is a substantial curve, and the physics faculty cares a lot more about their jobs than the people in the Math department. Study hard and you'll do okay.

Physics definitely isn't the best class but he genuinely tries to make it understandable and semi-fun. He's very accessible after class and will help you better understand concepts. Yes, the course is hard, but he is probably your best bet in making it through the semester and passing (just show up and do the homework).

The exams are way too hard compared to the content he teaches in class. There is no additional material he provides to prepare better for the hard exams.

Professor Mohammadi is a great instructor he makes learning enjoyable. Physics is a tough course, and although I struggle with the material I find it helpful that he makes the class less stressful.

Class is hard, but if you keep up with the homeworks and discussions and ask help when needed, you will be just fine.

PHYS 207 is a terribly organized class and the exams are ridiculously difficult. I thought Mohammadi was the better lecturer of the pair that we had and he was very helpful in office hours. My frustrations lie more with the class than this professor specifically, but his lectures were sometimes confusing and often did not match the textbook.

I did an exam with him and scheduled it for a different time and he forgot I had him (and he agreed) for a later time that day. He said the only way I would get credit was if I took the exam right away in the next 30 minutes (3 hours before my scheduled time). The class was very difficult, but my TA was the only thing that got me through.

Ridiculously hard class for introductory physics. Goes over lecture slides super fast and covers a ton of material each lecture. Exams are extremely hard with averages ranging from low 70s in the beginning of the year to low 50s by the final. Homework is also extremely time consuming with very hard problems that are graded by accuracy.

He cares for his students but is not a great lecturer. I'd never taken physics before, so the first half of the semester I taught myself out of the textbook until I sort of gave up. Due to easy labs, doing all my homework, and a bit of extra credit, I managed a B. So while the class was difficult, getting a decent grade is pretty achievable.
