Clearly knew what he was talking about and always had a good plan for seminars, even if we didn't always get through it all. He is a hard grader on papers (one a week!!) so I would recommend visiting the history lab to get them looked over. He's a nice guy but can get a little moody + definitely plays favorites (it's not too bad though)Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Rosenhagen is a kind person and seems to care about his students, however the course is very reading intensive and you will be expected to write at least 3 large papers over the semester. His prompts and grading criteria are extremely unclear, so it can be hard to get a good grade on these larger assignments. The class can also be awkwardRate My Professors ↗
Prof. Rosenhagen seems like a kind guy, but this class was a mess; he assigned a group project (not on the syllabus) right before the final essay, and halfway through the semester he assigned myself and another honors student an 8-10 page essay (more work than Ive EVER had for an honors class.) He is knowledgeable and wants to get us to think for ourselves, but it often ends up with the students spinning in circles on a topic and him trying to guide us to an answer that we are struggling to get on our own. Mixed feelings about the class. The theory is very obscure and he makes you relate it to the readings which means you really have to engage with the material to get a decent grade. He doesn't lecture, but I wish he would because he's a very smart guy. The whole 75-minute class is basically spent discussing the readings, which gets awkward & boring
I can't recommend Dr. Rosenhagen, even though I really want to. He's a good guy and is incredibly passionate about what he does. However, he is incredibly unclear with essay prompts and what he expects of students in general. You can expect to write about 30 pages of papers in total and read from 100-300 pages a week (sometimes double-sided).Rate My Professors ↗
