Thongchai seems like a nice guy, but this class is among the worst I have taken at the UW. Absolutely no direction, dull lectures and nothing original from lecturer. TA Sinae Hyun was on a major power trip and added no value to the class. Rude, unhelpful and unapproachable. Books aren't necessary.

Not very interesting. Doesn't have a course plan, just lectures day to day on vague topics. Seemed sometimes like he was reading the books for the first time before he lectured. Course has no direction. Not particularly enlightening.

Don't bother reading or buying the texts, anything important is on e-reserves. There is only 3 essay tests, and it's not too bad if you're a decent writer and use the lecture material.

Worst professor ever. Has horrible graduate students who grades his papers for him. Teaches everything from the book. Essay topics are ridiculous.
