He's very knowledgeable in the topics and clearly very passionate. Although attendance wasn't mandatory, if you want to pass you definitely need to go. It took a little bit to be able to adapt to his lecturing style. If you don't care about the topics, lectures can be boring. Overall, he's a very nice guy and wants to see his students succeed.Rate My Professors ↗

A reading heavy course so you are prepared for Prof. Dale's very dense lectures covering a ton of material across religious history. Most of the course is centered on the Abrahamic religions, but he brings in guest lecturers for variety. Good time if you enjoy the material, but can be very boring to cover that much each week without the passion.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Dale is fine. However, his TA, Özlem Eren, is one of the worst TAs I have ever had the displeasure of working with. She is an unnecessarily tough grader, unfair, and not helpful. Because of her, I strongly recommend not taking this class.Rate My Professors ↗
Lectures can be extremely dry, and discussion is incorporated on occasion. Once he fell behind schedule he couldn't catch up because he talked so much, even with 75 min lectures. Exams involve memorization of names, dates, locations, etc. Wouldn't recommend if you haven't already taken an AH course.Rate My Professors ↗
Very engaging and knowledgeable. Very good at lecture.Rate My Professors ↗
Cares a lot about the topic, and is very passionate. However, he had very high expectations that aren't clear for the final papers in his courses and made it difficult to tell your grade in the course until the very end. Very critical on papers & basically wanted me to change my paper days before it was due even though it met all of the criteria.Rate My Professors ↗
