I had Sami as TA in AFR201, and I think he did a good job leading discussion. He made sure to give us feedback on our responses and gave us a lot of good tips on how to write good essays. He has a very good knowledge of African literature and he shared many experiences from his own culture and other African cultures. It's a good com b class.Rate My Professors ↗

Sami is an okay teacher if you are really dedicated to learning Arabic. He is confusing at times and very disorganized. There is nothing like a syllabus for his class and at times the grades he gives assignments seem arbitrary. He can be helpful if you push him, but it's kinda like pulling teeth.Rate My Professors ↗
Sami is extremely subjective and doesn't have an explanation for when he takes points off. He is funny at times, but explanations and expectations are not always clear until you get points off on a test or homework. It seems like he forgets that this is only an intro. level class and that making us not want to take arabic again isn't the goal.Rate My Professors ↗
