About this rating

Raw average: 2.67/5 from 12 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Might be the worst class I've taken at Madison. The class itself isn't hard but Hill was way in over her head. The class was terribly planned and her lectures rarely made sense. Assignments were randomly added throughout. Very little structure to the course. However, it is a very easy A (just show up and you're fine).

I had a terrible experience in Dr. Hill's class. The worst class I have taken in my college career. She is a poor planner, communicator, and course coordinator. I learned a lot in her class but so many things could have been made easier with a different instructor. I love talking to her about non-class things, though.

Quality 2/5Difficulty 1/5
Professor Hill is a really sweet lady but a little too scatterbrained to lead a productive course. Deadlines were barely enforced, expectations for assignments were unclear, and you rarely received feedback on your essays so you were left without guidance on to what you needed to improve on and were unsure of how you were doing in the class.

Quality 5/5Difficulty 2/5
prof hill is passionate about the subject and i felt that she genuinely cared that the students were able to grasp concepts of american indian culture that may seem foreign. she wasn't a stickler about deadlines and the assigned readings weren't followed.

Quality 3/5Difficulty 1/5
Easiest class you could take at UW-Madison. She really cares about what she's teaching but she's so flakey with reading assignments/homework deadlines. You don't have to do much to get an A in this class.

She never went over any of the assigned readings, which was quite annoying. The first exam was out of nowhere and the information on it was totally random. Class has nothing to do with readings. However, she is quite willing to try and help if you go and see her. Our class convinced her to give us the final exam questions before the exam.
