I loved the course. Not that you will become cybersecurity expert after taking this course, but it challenged me enough and got me excited. There is too much variation in the difficulty of the homework assignments. It will be good to improve them, or make the grades proportional. Rahul is approachable and very passionate about the topics.

It is not an easy class, but you'll learn a lot from his lectures. Some lectures that are not very well done. He should add more materials in the slides, given that there is no textbook. Over all I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. He is a great instructor. I don't know how could someone said it is an "easy A"!

Unnecessarily hard class. Focused more on coding rather than actually teaching security concepts. Don't take Rahul, he's not worth it.

Easy but outdated content most of which is irrelevant. Currently taking CS 542, Software Security with Prof. Bart, which is another recommended security course. Take Barts security course instead, hes way better than Rahul and provides content that is actually useful and modern.

Hes not terrible like the other reviews are saying but his teaching style is quite mediocre. Definitely not up to the quality standard of instruction Id expect from UW-Madison.
