Professor Lipton is a gem of the UW-Madison neuro faculty. 629 is a blast, learning about all of the molecular factors contributing to LTP and LTD. The paper improvement presentations aren't hard if you can wrap your brain around the experiments, which usually aren't too outlandish, and they allow you to be creative with the course content.

His lectures are good, but once a week in discussion you either have to present a new experiment based off an assigned scientific paper or ask a question of one person. The presentation part is hard because the papers are more complex that many of our knowledge so it is difficult to present, and he is there to give feedback and he is particular
