About this rating

Raw average: 4.33/5 from 3 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Quality 5/5Difficulty 3/5
He is a great lecturer, one of the best I have ever had for a coding/stats class. He is able to explain difficult material very easily. If you go to lecture and pay attention you cover all the questions that will be on the exams. He asks them throughout the lectures. Very friendly, approachable, and down to earth. Highly recommend.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 2/5
Professor Shi is very helpful and easy to talk to if you don't understand something. Sometimes the lectures can be a bit boring, but he has R exercises mixed in that are pretty useful to understand the material. Overall, a great guy and a good professor.

ACTSCI 654
Quality 4/5Difficulty 2/5
Prof Shi is a very likable, humorous, and down-to-earth professor. The material was actually quite difficult and theoretical (a lot of it just went right over my head), but he makes the exams manageable. I highly recommend him.
