Carl is a very understanding professor. He places a lot of importance on being present at lectures, but he doesn't make it mandatory. He will work with you to succeed in his course, and provides opportunities to learn outside the course. His lectures are engaging, and prepare you well for the content of the course. Carl is one of the most goated professors I've had. He's extremely passionate about his content, has interactive lectures, gives a lot of real-life examples, and there's barely any homework. He has office hours as well as 5-6 office hours opportunities during the days before a test. I would recommend going to the discussions; they help a lot.Rate My Professors ↗

Carl Barlett taught an engaging, high-energy course where he knew students by name and slowed down to clarify difficult concepts. The class had no textbook, relying entirely on lecture notes, which one student found challenging despite Barlett's excellent lecturing. Exams were open-note and based completely on lectures, with one student noting they were tricky due to the lack of straightforward provided content.

Carl Barlett taught RMI 670 with only two graded components, an exam and a project, that students found reasonably low-stress and quick to prepare for.
