About this rating

Raw average: 4.55/5 from 11 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Professor Strachen is just kind of the goat. ECE 210 is a fun lab based course where you get to have some hands on experience. Strachen is a down to earth dude and is pretty generous with the grading.

Professor Strachen was a joy to study under and work with professionally. He is highly accessible through office hours and more than willing to calmly explain any and all information. If you're EE/CE try to get classes with him if possible.

I am a senior EE at this school. If you see a course with Nathan Scratchen as the teacher, do anything you can to take it. He cares. If you are a sophomore reading this needing to take circuits, or 220 and haven't yet experienced the horrendous teaching in the EE department, listen to me and take Scratchen's class no matter what.

Great professor. Clearly loves to teach and is invested in his students. This course was difficult and confusing, but he provided multiple extra credit opportunities for students to demonstrate effort and learning through hands on practice.

The class was overall easy. Strachen made the topics interesting to learn about, and something that I wanted to study more about in the future. Overall, a very caring professor.

Professor Strachen is an amazing teacher! He knew everyone by name and was very passionate about teaching. He was always willing to help during class and labs. He also had many ways of connecting the students with different opportunities around campus. Would highly recommend taking this class!
