About this rating

Raw average: 2.84/5 from 37 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

A poorly written textbook is used a bit, but great lectures somewhat make up for it. The main issue is that he uses a unique grading scale that requires you to either earn mark credit on all tests/assignments, or earn extra credit, for the possibility of an A. Otherwise, the max is an AB.

Nice guy, not an amazing prof though. Tests weren't too fun as they were more challenging than the past years with more content we had to know. For the proofs I would advise just watching some YouTube videos. Helped for me. Discussions were lowkey useless so I just stopped going and ended up fine. Also the fake reviews he put are really funny lol

Tests are MUCH harder then the practice tests with harder MCQ's, more short answer problems, and harder proofs. He did have some nice policies like recording lectures, letting the final replace your lowest test score, and giving info on what would be on the final. Disc wkst's have like 5 useful problems and rest are way too difficult/irrelevant.

The reviews here are a little bit harsh. I thought that he was a solid professor. He did a decent job of teaching the material and made it engaging. It also helps that he posts his lectures for people who weren't in class. That being said, I found that the exams were much harder than the TWO exams from previous years that he gave us to study.

Prof. Keller made Discrete Math make sense. Good lecturer and homeworks are not that hard. Tests are marathons but if you study and do the practice tests and pay attention in class you should be fine.
