Class is disorganized, reads purely off the slides, does not answer questions clearly or instead gives inconsistent answers, and will blame you for tech issues that are on her end. Exams are given too much weight and are designed to make you feel lost, demanding a lot of participation despite their low weight. Do not take.Rate My Professors ↗
I took Professor Dutton's SPAN 130 (Intermediate Spanish) class at UIUC. She is not only a great professor but is very caring and understanding. I was not the most proficient in Spanish, but as long as you show up to class and complete the work on time you will do fine.Rate My Professors ↗

I'm so glad I had Michelle this semester. She's kind, flexible, and genuinely cares about her students' success. She's also one of the few teachers I've had who sent out a survey about the class and actually adjusted her lectures to fit student needs. Michelle was not the prof for me. This was my first Spanish class ever and I had a really hard time. This was a summer accelerated class so the work load was VERY heavy. Participation is heavily stressed. I had a difficult getting help outside of class. I tried to attend office hours and she never showed even though it was open hours.Rate My Professors ↗
