Extremely knowledgeable about physics. Lectures can be somewhat dry but he tells funny stories which makes them better. Highly recommend as a professor for Physics 307.

Continues the legacy of bad physics professors. Extremely dry voice. Claims to do practice problems that are "similar" to ones on the exams, but they're completely different. Past practice exams might give you insight into a few multiple choice questions. However, the test requires you to "expand your understanding" so much that a 30% can pass.

Winokur is very nice, funny & clearly loves physics, which makes his lectures enjoyable. However his teaching could be improved. Exams were very tough but lots of practice material was provided & the curve was generous. Doing the readings & discussion worksheets is a must. If you never took AP physics, Winokur is going to make you work hard.

Winokur is not a very good professor, I learned very little from lecture. I would recommend any other professor for 207. I would also recommend joining PLC. It is one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken, especially with no physics background.
