He is very unprofessional and give poor feedback. He does care a lot about students and know a lot about the material, but is not a good teacher. You have to learn how to write what he wants exactly to do well. Take every suggestion he gives you. His feedback is hard to follow. While I did learn a lot from this class and improved my writing abilities greatly, I don't know if it was because of Mike. While I enjoyed him as a person, I didn't feel he gave great feedback on writing assignments. The writing assignments are challenging in that you must learn to write like articles in a newspaper.
