Spanish 311 is linguistics-heavy and pretty boring, but Matteo always managed to make class interesting and fun! 100% would take again!Rate My Professors ↗

I LOVED Mateo. He made even the most boring topics interesting, and his passion and humor shine through in his lectures. Classes mostly consisted of discussion, and he would even give us time to draft our writings and do peer review. Grades based on 3 short papers, class participation, and weekly HW assignments. Try to get him for 311 if you can!Rate My Professors ↗
Mateo is the best. Spanish in college was harder then I thought, but he made the difference. I genuinely enjoyed being in class everyday. He cares about his students a lot, in a personal sense, and academically. He makes time for you, is very kind and patient, and a fantastic teacher. Easily the best class experience I have had in college so far.Rate My Professors ↗
Goes over concepts in detail and prepares the class well for the exam. His passion for teaching really makes the class engaging and interesting, connects the material to relevant experiences and activities which makes the lectures fun. Would highly recommend his class.Rate My Professors ↗
You can tell he really cares about his students and how they are doing in class, he is definitely funny, participation matters as it is grading, but that is because he just wants you to do well in class. Lots of deadlines and do dates and busy work, but it all pays off in the end for quizzes every two week and about 3 different exams.Rate My Professors ↗
Mateo actually really cared whether or not we learned the material and how we did on tests. I enjoyed his humor and how he interacted with students. The class itself has a quite a bit of work to stay caught up with, but Mateo makes it pretty manageable. Wish I could take him for my next semester of Spanish.Rate My Professors ↗
