She was always at least 5 minutes late to our 50 minute class, sometimes as late as 15 minutes. Her writing on the board was unclear and unorganized. Very hard to learn from, I was glad I had a fairly good understanding of the course material prior to taking it.Rate My Professors ↗
Marilen was soo nice! She's a little quiet but very down to earth and definitely helpful if you just ask! The exams based on the grammar from the book were kind of difficult but the essays required are not hard at all! Easy A if you just put in a little effort. TA for 223. The material is dull and overwhelming, but she really clarifies it, tells you what is important, and makes helpful connections between topics. She's easy to understand and is a real person; very approachable. I wish there was discussion more than once a week!Rate My Professors ↗
She is helpful outside of class and being in class is enjoyable. I like her as a person. However, she assigns homework before teaching, so we end up teaching ourselves. The book for 226 is horrible and doesn't explain much. Marilen is a little unorganized and takes a long time to get assignments back.
