Do all the homework as that is what a lot of your grade is based on. Even if it isn't done well, turning something in on time or late is better than nothing. Also, do the study guides provided because the test questions are very similar to them. Also, participate in class as much as possible or at least once or twice a class period.

Expect to have a lot on grammar in this course. He will start taking off more and more on hw throughout the course. The assignments are lengthy and busywork. Class time can go by very slow.

He looks for perfect grammar in a reading class. Your grade doesn't improve no matter how hard you work on the course materials, for he tests on grammar and wants you to do grammar synopsis for homework. Do not take him without superb grammar knowledge.

You really have to attend class. You can tell he's very passionate about the course, but even so the lectures are long and dry, but for me its difficult to listen to any history class and just be talked to for an hour and fifteen minutes. Also your whole grade is 3 quizzes and 2 bluebooks, with an extra credit paper option.

Marc was okay. He had organized lectures but he's so boring. He reads off of a piece of paper. The content is super interesting but you may find yourself staring into space while he's talking. Quizzes were too specific. Midterm and final were predictable but graded inconsistently and completely not transparent with little feedback.

Marc is a good, organized lecturer who speaks clearly. The class was somewhat boring, but the material is pretty interesting. Would not recommend for non-history majors.
