her lectures are super interesting and based on a lot of her own research, which is super cool for an intermediate class. graded on three essays, a midterm, and participation. would definitely recommend her class

Lectures are important to attend, but engaging and interesting. Hayes cares about helping her students succeed, and was very helpful in office hours. Readings are helpful but you don't need to do them all. Grade is participation and writing-focused. Would recommend!

You can tell she is passionate about history. Gives good feedback, grades leniently and also encourages, but doesnt force, participation. Attendence matters. Only thing is, she talks alot throughout the entire lecture and often drops names/dates without any proper explanation/context. Overall solid teacher, would reccomended the course
