Professor Slack is one of the most genuine and caring Professors that I know. She creates a wonderful environment for students to learn, and she brings in a lot of guest speakers to make class interesting. I always see her talking to students and answering questions thoughtfully after class. While attendance isn't taken, I'd strongly suggest going.

ATTEND 205 the semester before. Go to class and ask questions. She is really sweet and it just trying to help everyone learn.

Easy to understand and prepares ahead of time for class. I learned so much and adore her as a professor.

I'll admit I had a bad attitude about social policy. But I left the class feeling more confused and mightily abused. Her assignments were difficult to complete due to unclear directions, and the exams were next to impossible.

Rude, pompous, and completely unwilling to do anything to improve learning (ie talks in a whisper and refuses to speak up, won't use a microphone, overheads, or power point). Her final exam was VERY poorly written and full of vague, ambigious questions.
