While she might seem intimidating and she is blunt, Dr. Hendley is a genuine expert in all the matters she touches on. She's self-aware and fairly funny, and gives us some leeway despite strict grading. Really worth taking if you're interested in the law.Rate My Professors ↗

The premier example of what a professor should be. A clear master of the material who made me completely rethink how I thought about Russia and geopolitics in general. Would definitely take another course with her.Rate My Professors ↗
PS349- Professor Hendley is smart and passionate. I found the lectures and readings boring and hard to keep up with. Her expectations for assignments are very unclear and no rubric is provided. I would only take this class if you have time for a lot of reading and are passionate about the social and political influences that affect lawyers.Rate My Professors ↗
I took Poli Sci 349 with Professor Hendley and she was overall great. I will say there is a lot of reading (about 50 to 60 pages per lecture). If you're interested in law school, I would recommend this class. If you're not, it could be kind of boring. Overall great class and if you stay on top of your work, it's not too difficult at all.Rate My Professors ↗
Lots of assigned readings for each class that is occasionally tested on and lectures are full of personal anecdotes. Grades were never put into Canvas so I had no idea what my grade was until it was put into my transcript. Take this class only if you're super into Russian politics (not current events related), otherwise it might be boring.Rate My Professors ↗
Not that bad- just do all the readings and participate in discussions. Some of the homework is painful and useless, but you will learn a lot. My biggest issue is her essay criteria is unclear and she can be mean when giving feedback, which is unhelpful. The guest speakers are interesting and exams aren't that out of pocket if you attend class.Rate My Professors ↗
