The best professor ever! He's supportive and humorous. You can feel that he really cares about his students and hopes everyone can enjoy the lecture. His assignments are creative and worth digging deep into.

Ellenberg was the best professor I've had in the math department at UW. He cares so much about his students, writes doable exams, and gives interesting lectures. Homeworks were challenging but really reviewed the lecture content well and prepared me for the exams.

Jordan Ellenberg is an inspiring, fantastic professor. Homeworks were long and challenging, lectures prepared us really well for the exams. Ellenberg is super approachable and really cares that his students learn the material. Ellenberg is the best professor I've had at UW-Madison.

Dr. Ellenberg is funny, but well respected. Approachable and cares a lot about his students. Overall taught a great Analysis course.

Jordan is incredible. Homeworks were long but doable. Exams were not bad at all. Lectures were very interesting and I appreciated how enthusiastic he was about the material. Would definitely recommend taking any class with Jordan.

Homework sets can be long but fair. Exams are made on the easier side because he uses it to test fluency and not depth. He really wants you to enjoy the content and stay hungry. Great lecturer, entertaining, and inspirational. A true GOAT at Madison

Prof. Jordan is the best tutor I have ever seen. Before took his course, I am still wondering that can i do research about mathematics. But he is offering you a brilliant idea about what a mathematician should think and how we could do to connect the mathematical theory to the real world question. Even though the hw is very hard, but very useful.

Jordan was a great professor all around. Made the concepts we learned accessible and intuitive, and was able to keep the class very engaging even despite being online. He is also just a great and very kind person, and cares for the wellbeing and learning of his students. I would definitely recommend him.

Best professor I've ever met. He gave incredible lectures and make the course coherent and intuitive. Also, he gives interesting homework that you would not find anywhere else, although it takes a pretty long time to finish them.

Took 240 with Ellenburg about a year ago. From the other horror stories I've heard from those that have taken 240 with other professors, he is the only professor I'd recommend you take it with. He's a great guy who's very passionate about the material and number theory, and the curve in the class is generous. You won't regret taking CS240 with him.

The class was not easy, but the professor was awesome! Really funny, really makes you think.

Jordan is a brilliant man! If you don't believe me, find his page on Wikipedia. Lectures are very theory oriented. Pay attention at all times, or you may miss something! Tests are fair, homework is easily graded. Lectures are interesting enough given his nerdy sense of humor.

Fairly difficult, make sure to attend lecture because there is a lot of out of book material. Tests are hard. It helps if you've seen the material before. If you're CS or ECE, take CS240 in the spring.

He is by far the most energetic and fun teacher ever! The enthusiasm he brings to math it outrageous!

Professor simply makes math fun. Brilliant man and energetic teacher. Talking fast is not a bad thing, slow math lectures are boring. The only lecture i have had where i would be sad to miss class.

Bad: In class exams. Homework due same week as exam, and that material will be on it. He talks too much, and isn't clear. My TA was much better, thanks Hao. Good: You get a cheat sheet for the exam, but may not help at all. HW is 25% of grade. Advice: Study the previous exam very hard, the exam will be based very close to it.

Very energetic, talks fast. Lectures can be a little hard to follow, sometimes. First midterm was pretty easy. It got a lot harder from there. The final exam was unreasonable, but there was a generous curve. Easy class if you've had some of the material before taking it.

Crazy smart guy and very energetic. Discrete math can be semi-hard and sometimes he doesn't do a good job of relying what he wants you to know. But overall a great professor for a class that can be hard to comprehend.

Great Professor! Keeps classes interesting and informative.

Very interesting professor who is interested in what he's teaching and makes the classes fun to go to.

Great professor. He is entertaining, energetic and loves his subject. One of my favorite math professors. The class is very well put together and felt just tough enough. Tests can be a bit tricky. In class, he is very easy to follow. Read before class though. You don't have to understand the reading, but it will help in following lecture.

Take momo right now: "Prosecutor's fallacy" will be on your exam! He likes it a lot!(probably it will appear on final)

The best math professor I have ever had. As others mentioned before, exams are not easy, but not that hard, especially if you study. He emails a list of things to focus our studying on including terms, and this helps a lot for the exams.

Smart man. Will make you interested in math. A very vibrant, exciting person. Exams are reasonable.

Very smart professor- excellent at providing reasons why you would ever want to do this at first inane computations etc. Knows his stuff, take this class if you're interested in furthering your mathematical career.

Good professor; makes lectures fun, but sometimes goes a bit too fast.

He makes class fun. Exams are not too hard if you understand lectures.

He really likes math, and he is a pretty smart guy, but don't take the class just because you are interested in math and think this class will be easy. There is a lot of stuff related to computer science that you will not understand easily.
