About this rating

Raw average: 4.69/5 from 13 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Great all around professor. Exams overlap with material he teaches, attendance is not mandatory, and he is a great lecturer. He is also a very wholesome and likeable guy. 100% recommend him

The best option for finance 300, it is still graded on a 3.2 curve so getting an A can still be hard, but definitely less work compared to the other options for the class. Pretty entertaining lectures and thats only if you go because attendance is not mandatory.

Good guy, cares about his students and material isn't impossible if you're showing up/paying attention in lectures.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 3/5
Shovein is okay, but likes to get distracted by "life-lesson" tangents during lecture, talking about irrelevant experiences from his own profession. His slides are always posted and are easy to follow, but the homework he assigns isn't really relevant, but there's not a ton of it, which makes up for it.
