It's the middle of the semester and I thought this class would be chill as I just needed it for a major requirement. There is TONS of reading every week and the exam had a writing portion worth 75% of the grade. Take a different environmental humanities course if you are looking for something easy! Jim is by far the best professor that I have ever had. He genuinely cares for his students and actively makes sure that each lecture gives students opportunities to share their thoughts and engage with the material. While his class was very reading heavy, the material was usually very relevant and not terribly boring.Rate My Professors ↗
Jim was an amazing professor who was very passionate about his teaching. There were a lot of readings for the class but none of the readings felt disconnected from the material. Overall, I really enjoyed the amount of discussion that was offered within the lecture and discussions about the readings that we had assigned outside of class.Rate My Professors ↗
One of the best professors I've had at UW-Madison. He is clearly knowledgeable on the topic and his lectures are excellent. Lengthy reading at times, but necessary for background. Though it was a big lecture, he knew nearly all of our names and created an environment for discussion. He is very approachable and ready to help his students succeed.Rate My Professors ↗
