She made wanting to learn a language not enjoyable at all. Favored certain students, picked on others. Laughed at you if you didn't know an answer to a cold call. Made people feel very uncomfortable coming to class. For me it was extremely hard to want to come to class because it was terrifying, but attendance plays a big role.Rate My Professors ↗
Jaqueline was a good professor and tends to favor students who engage with her in class. Don't skip class- your grade is almost entirely dependent on attendance and participation. Good teacher, and answers questions fully when prompted. Nice pacing of content and overall not a tough grader.Rate My Professors ↗
I loved Jaqueline! Her class was super fun and made learning French simple. Never minded answering questions and went through class quick, sometimes let out early. I would definitely take this class again she was amazing.Rate My Professors ↗
Jacqueline is a bit strict, and initially quite cold in her temperament during class (although she became calmer over time). But she was always kind to me. The class is a bit boring and monotonic, but helpful. The 3 group projects are very enjoyable. Be prepared to participate in class and to be called on. By far the worst teacher I've ever had the first 9 weeks of the semester; attitude was horrible and made students feel uncomfortable in class. She was reported to the French Chair any they had a "talk" with her. Luckily the rest of the year went much better and she would actually smile and talk to students appropriately.
