I took the class in Fall 25. Full points were given for simply attempting HW and discussions. Final exam was non-cumulative. Only drawback was that 70% attendence was required. Her lectures were sometimes fast, but the regular assignments made it easier to grasp what was going on.Rate My Professors ↗

Dr. Trate is an amazing professor. Her lectures do move quickly, but the content is the same as in the book. She makes a clear effort to get to know her students and engages in in-class discussion during lectures. She and the TAs will float around and answer questions during work time. I would 100% recommend Dr. Trate as a 104 professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Dr. Trate is... fine. She seems very sweet, and is friendly and accessible to students, but is unengaging as a lecturer. Your outcome in the class is more dependent on your participation and studying than anything Dr. Trate is responsible for (keep in mind it's a giant class with many lecturers). I did not take 103, so I was not used to the grading criteria of this class. The professor is good enough. She takes time for questions during class, but she does start rushing towards the end of lecture to get through all the content. My TA was a huge help, and thought she did a better job of explaining the content than the teacher.Rate My Professors ↗
This professor was so funny when she was telling the story about the girl that she had been talking about! And I think I was the only person that knew about her…Rate My Professors ↗
Dr. Trate is nice enough, but I don't think she's the best teacher. She rushes through the lecture, especially the last 10 minutes, and talks until the last minute. I honestly find watching lectures on my own time more helpful because I can slow it down and go back when needed. The tests are also pretty difficult, but it's Gen Chem. TopHat is big!Rate My Professors ↗
