This course is unreasonably difficult for no reason. This course teaches modeling from an old school academic perspective with concepts and practices that are fundamentally wrong, do not apply to the investments industry, and are simply not applicable. WSP and CFA materials are better. Don't expect any kind of curve either.

He was a great professor and I learned a lot in his class! He is very straight to the point, and taught the material with direct examples that resembled both the homework and the exams. Exams were extremely fair and straightforward, and even though they were short answer/math that required showing your work, he graded them promptly.

One of the best professors I've had at UW! His exams were extremely fair and straightforward, almost exactly the same problems you do in lecture. You do have to attend lecture though since they are not recorded. As long as you attend the lectures, you will be completely fine on the exams. I found this class easier than Finance 300.
