Hunter is an amazing professor. I originally was not looking forward to this course, but this has turned into one of my favorite classes. There is not much reading, one article a week, because you focus on it for the whole week, but they can be long. Philos 241. Great lecturer, fun to talk to, and very smart. Read about all content in papers, then lecture about them in class. All class and discussion are "mandatory" (you can miss a few) as you are graded on participation. Two papers and participation determine your grade, but I prefer it that way as there is no busy work.Rate My Professors ↗
The course I took with him was Philos 241. Hunter is a PHD student and a fairly good lecturer. The structure for the class is you read philosophy papers every week (10+ pages each), then he lectures about them. Your grade is based on mandatory participation in discussion sections and 2 papers. Hunter is a super young "professor" (PHD student) who has a super unique teaching style. He is very intimidating, but he teaches great lectures. All handwritten notes, mandatory participation in discussion sections. Only 2 papers per semester & tons of readings per week! Grade based entirely on two papers (graded by TA) and participation (aka attending discussions, but theres ways to make up missed ones). His lectures are super funny and easy to stay engaged. He is intimidating and definitely has his own style of teaching, but there is minimal homework and if youre interested in the topics you will enjoyRate My Professors ↗
