Hugo was a fantastic TA. His classes were enjoyable, interesting, and very informative. He made us work to earn our grades, but he also made sure that students who put forth a sincere effort in the class were rewarded for their hard work. Fantastic teacher. Hugo kept the class interesting, kept the students engaged, and made sure every student was challenged and was learning. As a language teacher, Hugo does the seemingly impossible: making language class enjoyable. That's not to say he's easy on his students. The regular quizzing and homework require students to put in a good amount of work. I've had Hugo for 2 semesters and he is one of the best TAs that I've had. He is very patient, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable. Hugo communicates concepts with ease and makes himself available when needed. He goes beyond the textbook to aid his lessons, using "real" French that one would actually use. Great class. Awesome TA. Hugo made learning French extremely fun! He's a great teacher and genuinely wants to help his students succeed. Hugo used movies/songs/articles (outside of our textbook) to make French relevant to our daily lives. Participate and speak up! Hugo is approachable and friendly. Great instructor. Very passionate about the language & culture, absolutely will teach you as much as you want to learn beyond the course material, if you show the interest.
