About this rating

Raw average: 4.32/5 from 41 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Was very calm and easy to understand. Was never too tough on grading or homework and tests made sense and long as you looked over the study questions.

Professor Petty is one of the best professors I've had. Exams are tough, but if you study an A is not out of the question. Lectures are crystal clear, and if you're not super clear on a concept, he's more than willing to answer questions.

Lecture is interesting but his tests are unfair. Try to take it with Ackerman if you have the option.

Quality 5/5Difficulty 4/5
He teaches straight from the book which means you can get away with skipping a class if needed. He is very clear in how he teaches topics. The exams seem like they would be very easy, but somehow are very difficult so a lot of studying is necessary.

Prof Petty is an amazing professor. Smart, gets his points across, teaches straight from the book so it's ok if you miss a day, attractive... funny, too! His exams and grading were very fair.

SUNDOGS! The best teacher for taking Weather/Climate. Heard the other one tried to act too hard.
