I thought this class was going to be easy and interesting, which is what 319 is all about. I didn't get that at all. He was pretty unorganized, and went through the material too quickly . The tests at first were nothing like the review or homework assigned. Until he gets more practice teaching 319 I don't suggest him.Rate My Professors ↗
The first part of the class wasn't awful, but towards the end he started speeding through really tough material. He did his research on this material and doesn't understand why we don't get it the first time. He is open to questions. He makes LOTS of algebra mistakes and the accent can be hard to understand. Prof Hernandez is a poor professor. He doesnt logically work out examples or describe the purpose of derivations while doing only the easiest problems. Poor tests too I got all points of the first midterm except for one question that required us to write out a theorem which he gave to the kids at the review session that i couldnt attend due to workRate My Professors ↗
Gerardo is not a good professor because because his lectures lack simplicity, clarity, and organization. He makes frequent algebra mistakes to the extent that it feels like students are teaching the class by how many times the have to correct him. Concepts are clear as mud. He basically followed the book word-for-word, but was always willing to give in-depth explanations when asked. Very open to questions. He creates a great classroom atmosphere. Very friendly and very smart, he is one of my favorite professors in the departmentRate My Professors ↗
Decent professor with an accent. He sometimes jumbles word together, but is always willing to explain things over again. He is the type of professor that allows you to interrupt him and encourages questions. He bases most of exams off of the practice exam so easy for the students who study.Rate My Professors ↗
