Lecture slides pulled almost directly from the book. For this reason, I rarely attended lecture. The book is dense, but read and you'll know everything to know for the tests (plus examples in the slides). The 2 noncumulative exams were designed to make you succeed (MC, T/F, matching) with EC. Discussion attendance is required. Would take again 100%Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Bates was amazing! Her exams were straightforward and as long as you knew the reading material and went to most of the lectures you were fine. In office hours she is so engaging and kind and went out of her way to help me find resources to add to my understanding. Would absolutely take again!Rate My Professors ↗

I took Principles of intl law w Professor Bates and I loved it. The class is relatively easy if you show up, take notes, read course materials, and study for the exams. Both the midterm and final exams require intense studying if you want a good grade. Also, she is very knowledgeable and makes the lectures engaging and informative.
