Some students were allegedly talking in lecture and he publicly humiliated them. A few days later he claimed other students were talking, although they were right in front of me and I didn't notice. He said the next people to speak will be removed from lecture and or he will CALL THE POLICE and have them escorted out. Do not recommend his class.Rate My Professors ↗
The material is hard and he does not present it in a helpful way. Second two tests are take home, and you can do well if you work in a bright group. Very time consuming though! His annoying political opinions were sprinkled in all over the place. Take the 300 level immuno class unless you're super interested in the subject. Wasn't worth it to me.Rate My Professors ↗
I'm really torn with Splitter. On one hand he really cares about the content and his lectures are great, but his exams are near impossible and are crazy time consuming. He also refuses to hold office hours or create a reading syllabus. He clearly cares about the material, but not so much about the students taking the class.Rate My Professors ↗
The material is hard. He is not the greatest teacher in the world, but you can tell he cares. First test is really hard, avg was a 59%. Second two tests are take home, and you can do well. He gave a little bit more political opinions on healthcare and so on that I didn't really care to hear or think was appropriate, but such is Madison.Rate My Professors ↗
Great class. Lectures go very fast and cover a lot of material, but it's all very important. I suggest emailing him whenever you have questions and actually read the book. It will definitely help. He also incorporates life lessons into his lectures, which is interesting, and ended the semester with two great videoes on cancer treatment.Rate My Professors ↗
Splitter is a very nice, intelligent guy who means well, but teaching is simply not one of his strengths. The class is very disorganized to start out with, especially if you don't have an immunology background. The first test is very hard, but the 2nd and 3rd are doable if you have a good group to work with. Amazing curve at the end!Rate My Professors ↗
